Practical tips

•Phuket's main road gets especially busy in the afternoon — it's worth planning long drives for the morning.
•Patong, Kata, and Karon are connected by one coastal road — easy to move between the three by rental car or tuk-tuk.
•Shops and restaurants in tourist areas sometimes accept shekels, but the rate is always bad — Thai baht is better.
